I agree about the dive. That was very blatant. However I really enjoyed watching the game. Probably the most exciting game in the Superleague this past weekend.

Shouldn't this thread be moved to the new Panaitolikos forum?

OMG, talk about a lack of finish in the 18 yard box... frusty.gif

That being said, Seremet was solid in goal too.

QUOTE (greekleafs17 @ Sep 18 2011, 12:16 AM) *
This is definitely a feel good team.

So much for that- http://www.gazzetta.gr/super-league/articl...imo-se-haristea

one of the comments on the article puts it best:

Everyone has to appreciate and respect this player for his contribution to Greece. But at this point in time he should not continue being called up to the national squad.

he could probably still do a job on a smaller team in the SL if played as the lead striker in the box, but from what I've seen I think he's been put back on the wing this season. Nevertheless, he does not have a place in the ethniki now, and I will be utterly shocked if Santos calls him up (don't think he will though)

Every highlights I watch from Panaitolikos, Charisteas is one of the only ones every game creating chances and taking shots. The only reason he's booed is because he was their big signing and isn't scoring an abundance of goals like any team's big signing is expected to. It's not really his fault though. It's not for a lack of effort. That team altogether is hard for goals, and the service is sub-par.

Regardless, he is one player who's club performance never interfered with his national performance. He's had all sorts of scenarios happen to him heading into ethniki games and tournaments. He's also been a bench player and sometimes bench warmer and still delivered for the ethniki. No matter what, he is the #2 goal scorer in the history of the Greek national team for a reason and nobody can deny that.

Look no further than a few months ago when he scored that huge goal against Georgia to seal our 1st place in the bag. I wouldn't be surprised if he does get called up.

5-1 win over Aris!!

We're going to need a miracle to stay up.

Need to beat PAO, need Ergotelis to lose or draw, need Aris to beat Kerkyra.
