It will be hard to overtake Spain. Points come off every 8 years, so they're 2006 WC will stand until 2014:(
But in 2012 we might pass Argentina as their 2004 Olympic gold will be subtracted from their rank. We are going to need to do really good in all our upcoming tourneys, especially at next year's WC. We weren't in it in 2002, so this would be a great chance to gain points. -------------------- "You don't have to be perfect, but you have to try very hard, and I did all the time"

^ The rankings are calculated within the 2 previous Olympics cycles. Serbia, from 2004, up until Eurobasket 2009, did not do well and but managed to only lose 10 points as a result of getting silver recently.
Serbia's performances in the last 5 years. (Greece's performances in parentheses) Olympics 2004 - 11th place (5th place) Eurobasket 2005 - 9th place (1st place) FIBA WC 2006 - 11th place (2nd place) Eurobasket 2007 - 13th place (4th place) Olympics 2008 - did not qualify (5th place) Eurobasket 2009 - 2nd place (3rd place) |

Will the Greek FIBA ranking drop after London? It sucks because our 2002-2003 period wasn't great so we could've gained many points in 2010-11 but failed to do so. Most of the teams ranked below us either failed to qualify for London or did worse than they did in 2004. I guess we will be somewhere between 3 and 5 right?
