Do we have room for a player that we were grooming at thrakomakedones and let him go to the enemy? This is a real good player that can help us immediately and best of all he is FREE. |

Hehe. I knew that this thread was coming, all day i have waited and you did not let me down "Score".
Well, we've made such a dumb mistake by letting this guy go for free. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't end up either at AEK or at PAOK. |

Marcus, I'm glad I didn't let you down, and time only will show where this talent will go.

Score: I'm curious to know since you know about this player more than anyone here on the boards... What are this kid's biggest strengths and weaknesses... I didn't get to see the match vs. Chalkidona last year where most people saw him play... Just tell me what you know about this players skills and how good he is to succeed for one of the top clubs in Greece. Thanks in advance...

I'm just wondering why you a gavro fan would be asking an aektzi about one of your players?
don't you think you should be the one telling us what you know? thank you in advance. |

Actually, it's embarassing, but I don't really know about this player's skills... The one match everyone here says they saw him in, the one last year against Chalkidona, was one that I missed. I am just wondering what skills he has, and how successful he can be in the league... and I figured that you seemed to know alot about this player, so I asked... plus, at one point, he was almost an AEKtzi... so I'm sure you know more about him than me... Plus, he isn't one of our players any more... he is free now...

Score how am I supposed to rate a player that has played 1 single game in the A'Ethniki and that while at Olympiakos a team with no right midfielder never managed to get any playing time?

You surprise me Boston. You are the best in here with gathering information about everything and everyone.
If you look hard you will find out what you need to know. You also know very well how many games he played, when, against who and how he did. So why don't you tell us. |

as long as the Ivic brothers are at AEK, Filippakos will not be signed, unless Santos really presses for his services.

Thread about the Chalkidona match so you can see some of the posts for yourself:-
http://www.greeksoccer.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9751 And another about the player, again filled with good comments :- http://www.greeksoccer.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9776 Unfortunately, I can't find any links with the goals from that match although I have them on my machine itself. Philipakos gave two assists in his debut match. |

The kid is very fast and is a good athlete. But there is a lot more to being a great player than that. He came to AEK under Bayevic and followed him to OSFP. Now that Dusan left there, he did not find a spot. Who knows? he can be very useful. But I don't see him staying in Greece, unless Bayevic comes to Greece to coach at whatever team.
Don't be surprised to see him in the MLS or something like that. -------------------- Kai Ta Kourelia Tragoudane Akoma.....

I remember the game he played against Chalkidonia and he did very well. What I remember of that game was that he was always moving, on or off the ball. Very static and didn't hesitate with the ball at his feet. Also weighed his crosses effectively in dangerous areas of the penalty box. Seemed to be a modern day prototype right mid and a shame the Gavroi didn't give him a proper shot at what he can really do.
I rate Philipakos over such Gavroi stalwarts as babangida or going back to last year georgiadis. I really shouldn't be surprised at this development, seeing as the gavroi have proven again what a cespool of waisted Greek talent they really are. I doubt that AEK are going to go after him, but i know a Greek team that have proven that they could win with young talents strarting for them and I think they are currently in the market for an EFFECTIVE right mid |

Players with attitude are a risk.
Is it a case of... Talent > Risk or Risk > Talent |

QUOTE(mk21 @ Oct 31 2005, 10:46 PM) Don't be surprised to see him in the MLS or something like that. I was thinking the same thing as I have read before comments before that imply that they would consider offers from MLS teams. I have also not seen him play. Just have heard that he is very telented and has lots of potential. He seemed to have been a favorite of Bajevic and since he left Greece things have not been well with this kid. -------------------- "Well, like many Greeks, I’m an egomaniac and obsessed with philotimo, an untranslatable term that usually gets translated anyway as “love of honor.” It really has to do with personal independence, a rejection of arbitrary authority, personal generosity and loyalty to friends, hostility toward various asswipes rather than feigned politeness, and an embrace of contradictions." i saw this post in the mourning and thought to myself let everyone write there opinion then ill give mine and i say
i dont want him at aek sorry score but its my lil opinion he has played one game and he did well if he did so good why didnt he play more people like olympiakos dont loose talented players just like that they could of used the option of loaning so he can get some experience in first team football if they want experienced players no excuse there.... talents dont leave big teams... he must be just an average player then i rather plastikas and papastathopoulos over him |
