I think he resembles anatolakis in the face a bit and thats the end of it. Anatolakis was a terrible defender who only played with heart and his balls. Avraam is a top class defender, who can play rough and tackle and is tough but who can also take the ball upfield on a coursa when e wants to. Hes no laurent blanc but he is also no anatolakis. smile.gif

I think he has a 90+% efficiency rating on those last man, red card if you miss, goal saving tackles. His timing is ridiculous....

Probably my favourite player on the team the last few years.

Hopefully he plays for us til he retires.....

What an absolute rock Avraam has been. I hope the club can find a strong replacement for Mellberg and we can have a strong CB duo for many years to come! He is one of our most consistant performers!

I think papazoglou has potential..

I dont know like melberg, but with more experience he can be a pretty good replacement..

In the very limited minutes he has been given, he has been very good (e.g. away match v Rubin). If he is shown some faith (e.g. as Marcano was even though he was very sketchy in his first outings unlike Papazoglou's scarce minutes thus far) he may well be more than just "back up material."

When Avraam was introduced to the national team he was also shaky (refer Switzerland at home game and Luxembourg own goal). However he has been backed in and is now a very solid CB for country, similar to his club peformances.

I questioned whether Papazoglou would be backed in after his excellent game in Russia. We shall see what playing time he gets from now until the end of the season.

I also think Papazoglou is pretty solid and can be an asset to the team. Let's see what he can do with the playing time he's given.

Inter wanted to buy him in the winter , but too be honest i dont think thats a big deal because inter is trying to buy alot of players this summer and in winter many attempts were made for other midfieldefs etc.

They are trying to get the "colombian ronaldo"

They just got guarin in the winter

They are also trying to james rodriguez (i am not sure)

They also tried getting zuniga from napoli..

I dont know which other teams showed interest in avraam...

EDIT:

Just found some links.. Most teams looking at him are zenit, inter, chelsea, and benfica however did not find any official offers made except inters 6 mil

I knew immediately when he went down with a non-contact injury that it was probably an ACL. How our NT trainers didn't notice, let alone throw him back on there for another 15 minutes is beyond comprehension.
