Most of the run of play seemed to be against Asteras but they took their chances. I think AEK should have at least got one penalty. At the end of the day Asteras put away their chances, AEK didn't, and then in the last 10 they turned it around. Crazy match.

They tease us every year with this, then they end up mid table at the end of the season.

Everything is under control mate, that's why Vlachos (our coach) gave an interview in which he claimed the lifein Tripoli sucks and can't get used to it even though Tripolitsiotes are treating him very well. Is as if he predicts the run will stop and the team will go down....

This team looks good this year. I know it's early, as we're only starting September, but I watched parts of their first two games and hightlights from their European matches. They have an excellent #10 in Rayo, who really dazzled in their last match (yes, it was against relegation-favorite Kerkira). Should be interesting to watch them compete for a European spot this year as a surprise package.

"There is art, dignity, genius, luck and bad luck, Gods and demons, freedom and fate, flags, hymns and tears, and above all, the discovery that although Brazil is bad at lots of things, it is good with the ball. It is a football champion, which is very important. After all, it is better to be champion in samba, carnival and football than in wars and sales of rockets. If the serious commentators say we suffer from lack of education, inflation, and unequal distribution of wealth, football provides a contrast. It shows we can love Brazil with its hymn and its flag, maintaining our lucidity relative to the regime we want to transform." Roberto Da Matta

At the moment, looks like these guys and Atromitos could be the big pushers of the season.

I treat every post like it is my last. I am quite forlorn over the past and the manner that this forum used to be frequented. Too bad.

Asteras means alot to other people. This is dedicated to my elder father and his favorite team back in the glory days. He recounted tales of his friends that played on the team. 50s and 60s. Of course nobody anymore cares about yesteryear.

I dedicated this post to a former member, AEKCHICAGO; his father played as a back on those great teams. If only AEK CHICAGO could reappear in these forums and educate the masses...Cheers.
