Only Bob Paisley has won it 3 times. Prob the best domestic manager of all time looking at his domestic record too.

But you have to look at international awards too. Only Marcello Lippi and Vicente Del Bosque have won the CL and the World cup, Del Bosque doing it twice (CL).

Nobody has won the European Cup, World Cup and European Championship..Del Bosque has a chance next summer though, that would prob make him the greatest ever IMO.

I dont know Stef, bar Terry slipping in Moscow fergie wouldve had only one, and that game he was quite lucky too. Btw he hasnt won it three times, united won it thrice not fergie. Still you were obviously gonna get ribbed for it, nothing personal just football.

I was talking about the great teams that will always be remembered for the European dominance. By that I mean winning 2 or three cups in a matter of a few years.

In recent memory, only Barcelona and Milan qualify for that. Does Real?

Real won 3 in 5 years ( 98-00-02)

No team has ever repeated as CL winners since Milan did it in 89 and 90.

Different era is correct, back in the early stages it was just the Champions of each country that participated. Liverpool finished 4th in the EPL in 04 ,won the CL a year later while finishing 5th in the league.

Ferguson, in order to beat Barca next year has to buy a complete new midfield full of players that are like those and not 1 dimensional ponies like Fletcher, Carrick, Valencia ,Gibson etc. Try for Modric-Sneidjer types.

so i know a few hate doing the whole prediction thing but what do we think about the relegation scenario... i think its clear that Southampton and Reading will come up and probs the Hammers to join them.

The battle at the bottom of the EPL is tense, Wolves for me are dead and buried... QPR should survive and its really out of Wigan, Bolton, Blackburn for the other 2 spots in the Championship in my opinion. 40pts will be enough to survive.

A mentions needs to go to Swansea and Norwich for playing some lovely footy this season, both deserve to stay in the EPL.

14. West Bromwich 36
15. Aston Villa 33
16. Bolton 29
17. Queens Park Rangers 28
17. Blackburn 28
17. Wigan 28
20. Wolverhampton 22

QPR aren't safe and they still have a harder run-in. But they have beaten big teams and they actually have a good team than it meets the eye.

Down are Wolves and I hope Wigan. I wouldn't shed a tear if Blackburn get the last spot. Screw them.

Think its safe to say Wolves are dead and buried. I want Wigan to stay up but at the same time it would be weird not having Bolton and Blackburn up here week in week out. Wouldnt mind QPR making a shock drop to spice things up. I guess who ever stays up deserves it. Good luck to them all.

Reading are returning to the EPL after clinching the Championship title tonight, fair play to them.

Yeah i saw that too, well done to them... they are a bit of an up and down side like WBA were but they have turned it around in recent years so lets see how they go.

Looks like Southampton will join them and the 3rd place is so tight, the hammers probs favourites but who knows.

Fair play to Southampton, from nearly disappearing as a club to climbing 2 leagues in 2 seasons is amazing.

Great late run from Reading, got to be said, they deserved it.
Anything that keeps West Ham out must be good!

And Blackburn will be joining Wolves down in the Championship next season. Kean just couldn't pull the cat out of the bag and silence his critics.

Fair play to Wigan none the less, who had the most difficult run in and managed to produce some of the most shocking results of the season, one of them beating the defeat of Manchester United which not only proved to be key in there fight for relegation, but also key in the fight for the title. Crazy game football.

If any team deserved to survive it was Wigan... they played some amazing football to knock off most of the big clubs... fair play to Martinez who is a genius!

Blackburn going down is a bit of a shock, its been a long time since they were down there... the final day is going to be interesing... its either Bolton or QPR to join them... anything can happen.

The first championship playoff has ended.

West Ham 3 - 0 Cardiff City
