Not so sure how much of die hard Vazelo he is....

The guy still is class

True True . Doesnt matter who he supported as a boy nor if its a shame that AEK could not buy him back as Kats is a 100 % Pro that always gives his best and thats more than enough for PAO. He instantly upgrades the central mid position, is an all purpose player that has no weaknesses in his game.

I don't think he ever smiles for photos. He also tends to have the grumpiest-looking face during the national anthem, which is actually quite impressive considering some of the guys in our national team.

this guy could be the signing of the summer for pao. i'm not discounting cisse's impact at all, but the things that katsouranis brings to the team and especially the midfield will have a GIANT impact on pao's game this year. katsou has been one of benfica's best and most important players, if not the most important the past 3 years. i think people might be belitteling the signing right now but the will be huge for pao down the road.

Don't get too excited.

I first want him to prove to me that he's going to play hard and work every game - I remain to be convinced that he didn't just come to keep his family together and would've much preferred to go to Hamburg.

Vlepoume.

This year our midfield is going to be like a clear glass door that a bird keeps flying into for opponents now that kats is on board. him and silva know what to do to players who dare try to cross the midfield line, i'm looking forward to this season , and i haven't really been able to say that the past couple of years.

Nice cautious approach, there.

This is a difficult transfer to fully analyze.

On one hand you have a player who is steady, consistent and presumably near his peak (well a few years off, maybe?)

And you have a PAO system, which is in the most generic sense, built on consistency (in the midfield).

He is a good player, but will he influence the overall performance of the club?

He seems to have a good head on his shoulders, which lulls me into believing he will succeed.

No sound unfortunately. I posted this video when we signed Karagounis and now they're both ours. Excellent signing.

I was a firm supporter of malezani. who else could through out Mantzios and Torghelle up front and Darlas at LB and pull a draw with Barca at oaka?

As for Kats - I dont think this is a retirement move. I think he will give 110% every game, because if Gilberto and Kara are doing it, he has no excuse.

I copped so much abuse for supporting Malezani at one stage I had over 100 people swearing at me saying how "shit" he was. Noone seemed to realise that whether you put Leontiou in or Tsiolis out would make no difference, there was no cisse, no silva, no karagounis, no nothing and still for me he managed to put out a solid showing.

Even in the game that PAO lost 5-0 to barcelona in that first 5 minutes PAO has came out showing that they were going to push Barcelona all over the pitch, it was just unlucky we conceded so early because the players didnt have the experience, the skill or the want to pull the game back.

I think he would have preferred a move to hamburg, that is my feeling anyway.

not to mention vyntra at right back man marking a ronaldinho in his "untouchable" days, a central midfield of leontiou, tziolis fresh out of the academies (well tziolis played on the all mighty panionios) and everyones favorite flop conseicao...

hell, alberto worked miracles...lol
