I'm not sure if its 100% done yet, but according to this it sure seems to be:

QUOTE

Welcome aboard Sebastien! Take out all your trella onthe gays!! laugh.gif

You can have more than 5 non eu players under contract, you have to include 5 on your league roster.

So is it official?

Both Leto and katsa should be good signings as they know the situation in greece. However they also know that it's almost a

taboo to play for your rivals. tongue.gif

I'm not sure this is official, I think it's a bit premature to start this thread but oh well. Leto will bring an improvement to what we've had for the past few years and his skills of beating men one on one is something that we lacked. If Ten Cate can tame him and do with him what he did with Vyntra and Simao then paides, this guy is going to be one paixtara IMO.

Leto's loan expires June 30 as of July 1st he will be praticing with the team. IF he listens to HTC he can be a very dangerous player has had problems with his temper but I dont think he will f..... around with HTC laugh.gif

Its not so much his temper, although it can be a problem, its the fact that 'paizi gia parti tou' is his biggest drawback.
If you can eliminate this 'selfishness' from his game, he can be very dangerous, as he is extremely talented at running at and taking on defenders. His other drawback, which I noticed last year and Valverde touched upon in a recent interview, is that he does not run much off the ball.
If HTC, can straighten these things out, you will have a very dangerous attacking player on your hands.
If not, he can be very frustrating to watch.
Just my honest opinion boys, dont crucify me....

^^^ that's a fair description and critisism of a player that i am sure alot of people feel the same about... like you said it remains to be seen if HTC can straighten some of his weaknesses and use all of his strengths on the field

Im not worried by the fact he doesnt run off the ball because that is one think which HTC has drilled into the whole Panathinaikos squad. 2 years ago no PAO players ran off the ball now even Vyntra is opening up for space at the back.

^^

AND...

What difference will that make?

Previously he was trying to prove his worth to Liverpool. Now he is guaranteed a contract with PAO and from there.... we shall see.

Realistically, if Liverpool is not enough motivation for you to play a good game rather than dribble dribble dribble until you get clobbered, then nothing ever will be.

Case in point: Leto was on loan for an entire season. Derbyshire was on loan for 6 months. Leto was effective for about 2-3 months maximum during that time, Derbyshire scored 8 goals in 11 games playing mostly off the bench. It was also part of Leto's contract that he got a minimum time per match, and he rarely had a good game. He often played well for 5-10 minute periods but other than that was rather selfish and annoying.

There is nothing to say that he wont be good at PAO, and once he visits Karaiskaki once, he will more than likely fire up and play well the next time against us, but generally speaking, I think that he wont change his attitude too much irrespective of who owns him. He is 23. Perhaps in 5 years or when his career is on the line he might see things differently. Time will tell.

you're absolutely right about leto. The gamble we took is simple, if he smartens up and learns the game the proper way he will be a force...case in point ronaldo...you cannot tell me that his talent level has improved these past years...the only thing that changed in him is that he smartened up and started to understand the game better, once he did that he was almost untouchable...same can happen with leto (although obviously nowhere near that talent level). some players just mature slower (messi was insane at 19, took ronaldo till 22, robinho still hasn't got it all yet, denilson never did...)

I disagree..Leto was dribbling dribbling dribbling to impress either Liverpool or Oly in order to get a contract. Now he doesn't need to impress anyone. You got your self a nice contract, your feature seems propitious you don't need to worry about no contracts anymore.... relax and play the soccer you really know

LIVERPOOL AGREE LETO SALE
Jimmy Rice 01 July 2009
Liverpool have agreed a deal with Greek side Panathinaikos for the sale of winger Sebastian Leto.
The Argentine spent last season with rivals Olympiacos after work permit problems prevented him playing for the Reds.

Leto signed for Liverpool in August 2007 after Rafa Benitez beat the likes of Real Betis and River Plate to his signature.

The 22-year-old made his competitive debut in a Champions League qualifier against Toulouse on August 28, 2007 - one of four senior games.

I really hope that he isn't a fancy foot here and actually distributes the ball. He has raw talent but lets see if he can develop into a dependable player now that he is with a team and not on loan.
