We need a topic for the men too wink.gif
This week is Davis Cup week, and there is already a topic for that. Next week all players will return to the tour.

Here is the order of tournaments in terms of how significant they are:

No upsets in Indian Wells. Just that Davydenko is injured and had to withdraw, and AO semifinalist Marin Cilic from Croatia lost early.

Ljubicic won the title. Miami R1 starts tomorrow, and Marsel Ilhan from Turkey qualified for the main draw and is very close to becoming the first Turkish player to reach the top 100 in singles on either the ATP or WTA tour! But I hope he doesn't make it, not because he's Turkish, but because his entourage was really rude to me at the US Open last year.

Some Highlights so far:
-19th seeded Marcos Baghdatis lost in the second round to qualifier Somdev Devvarman of India, but he is still recovering from the flu and wasn't 100%.
-6th seeded David Ferrer lost in the second round to Ivo Karlovic of Croatia who is coming back from injury and just broke the fastest serve record last week!
-14th seeded and defending champion Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia lost in the second round to 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina in a great match that I saw, a tough three setter!
-American qualifier Donald Young, a hyped youngster who went through a huge slump over the past few years beat #5 Andy Murray of Great Britain in the second round for his first ever top 10 win!
-James Blake and Andy Roddick will meet in the second round!!!
-Lleyton Hewitt lost in the first round laugh.gif. He should seriously give up.
-Young American Ryan Harrison and young Canadian Milos Raonic both advanced to the second round.
-8 of the top 10 singles players are playing doubles and causing upsets. Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Ferrer, and Verdasco are all playing with their countrymen. Melzer and Berdych aren't.

Djokovic won the title and is now #2, he's now won 22 in a row and he's 20-0 in 2011, not even including his 3 wins from Hopman Cup. Amazing! And Andy Murray hasn't won a match since the Aussie Open, and lost to two Americans out of the top 100 in Indian Wells and now Miami. What a slump!

And Del Potro keeps climbing up in the rankings and after his SF in Indian Wells, he moves up from 89 to 51!!!
