QUOTE
Amorgos Island
Region Greece, Europe
Price EUR €6,100,000
Status for sale
Size 494 acres
Location Southern Amorgos

Amorgos Island, Greece
This large property in the heart of the Aegean Sea could easily be transformed into Greece's newest resort hotspot. At nearly 500 acres, this island in the Amorgos chain could not only encompass a luxury hotel complex and golf course, but a reasonably-sized city!

The development possibilities are limitless, and the entire island is open for construction. A yacht-filled marina with facilities for sailing, diving and adventure sports would take excellent advantage of the deep blue Aegean waters, and the rich sealife of the area could even sustain an off-shore aquarium or centre for oceanographic research.

The sky is truly the limit for this property. A perfect tourist destination, area for holiday homes, and above all, a sought-after locale for permanent residence, this blank canvas in the beautiful Aegean is only waiting for an inspired artist.

Amorgos must be licking his lips at this prospect...

If I was rich I would buy it for the house and just plant a forest, that would be best for the Island. Not more concrete houses -rooms to let and concrete marinas or a water hungry golf course of all things! The natural beauty of the islands has more value than anything. Most these islands were forested up until 1500s when pirates cut down any trees they could find to repair their ships. Syros for example is just a rock now, before it was completely lush.

Easy to think this way for people like us, but I assure you if you or I or anyone else (as seen in the world) would want a return for their investment. People with money as with people with power want more, more money, more power...

However, in saying that your point is a breath of fresh air and a welcome prospect... If only there were people out there with money who had the same outlook.

Dam, could have done something very special with this but the asking price is massive. Would probly be a very good investment, place is pritty packed in the summer, more so each year that goes by.

I think it's a sign Amorgos...

Redevelop parts of the land, you can have your own private parties and what not!
