Dortmund had the better of Schalke today besting them 2-1. Schalke really couldnt generate any offense. Papadopoulos was OK but he didnt stand out. I missed the first goal but Dortmunds second was not Paps' fault.

I watchedSchalke v. Dortmund... K. Paps is played pretty strong but Metzelder is really lacked pace..... He gifted Dortmund with their second goal off of a cor ner. It really is a shame... the scoreline didn't reflect how well K. Paps did back there. Nothing to write home about.....

He actually got a 7.0 rating on goal.com. The best D with Fuchs. No1 got more than 7.0 on the team.

This kid is just 20 yrs and could be one of the stars at euro ...

For someone so young he plays like a beast, brilliant, passionate, natural leader and has all the makings of a future captain of the national team. If I were coach I would build a team around him.

Correct, but will never happen, not with anything greek anyway.

I will even be surprised if K.Paps starts games in the Euro, the coach prefers avraam and sok..

He is the first name on the teamsheet in defense every week, playing for one of the best teams in the 3rd / 4th best league in the world. For me he has to be the starting center back at Euro 2012. If santos thinks otherwise, I think he is mistaken.

With Sokratis's waning form and K. Paps playing the way he has...I guarantee it's Avraam and K. Paps pairing.

I think Sokratis and A paps are the best combo actually..

Sokratis is good, alittle clumsey, but he has speed for his hieght more then K. Paps and A paps.

I think Sokratis and K paps. can be good too, but Sokratis has a better in my opinion..

I also think it depends the team too, if we are facing aggressive fowards (tall strong, or short and fast)

Tall strong- K. Paps- He does good usually against people who do not have so much agility, and struggled against podolski when he had to mark him

Short Fast- Sokratis did very well against Messi and usually does well against players who are quick

I am not sure why Santos would dump the Avraam and Sokratis pairing. They have played so very well together...its too bad that we have trouble scoring goals and not trouble stopping them...

For me he would be ideal as a defensive midfielder with Katsouranis further forward. He is a quality player.

The team has to be created to fit him not the other way round. I like the passion he brings.

He would rock in the EPL.

Sokratis is one of the most in form and brightest CBs in the Bundesliga...

I don't know about that.... in the April games I've watched he hasn't looked THAT impressive........

He may have been doing well in March, but the last 3-4 games I've watched of his I haven't seen the bull I'm used to watching. Maybe he'll fix that by Euro, but his form has dipped a bit in the last month.....

We'll agree to disagree here I guess...

You also have to consider that the whole team is struggling as of late. I haven't watched most of his games, but from what I've read he's their top gun on defense. Plus, he just signed a permanent deal with Bremen like two days ago. He must be doing something right.

I am with red legend on this one.

For me K.Paps should be in the squad as he is faster, better passer and stronger than Katsouranis/Tziolis/kafes/etc etc..

These players need to start games and we should pick players around them:

Sifakis (if fit), Torosidis, Xolevas, Fetfa, Ninis, K.Paps, Avraam, Sokratis and perhaps Gekas if fit.

........................Sifo...............

Toro.....Avraam?...Sok?.........Xolevas

............X?X?X........K.Paps............

...........Ninis.............X?X?X..........

....................Fetfa......................

.......................Gekas.................

However I doubt Santos will start K.Paps unless avraam or Sok is injured and I doubt fetfa will see one minute after rotting in Olympiakos this season.
