His team plays a buccaneering game which leaves mounds of space in between their lines for the opposition to attack, and with tie against their favor after having gone down early they left even if more space for exploitation than usual. Twente simply weren't good enough, but better opposition would have given Schalke problems. nonetheless, despite having gone down early (he failed to close down player sooner, although his teammates shoulder equal blame), Schalke showed tremendous resolve to snatch the tie by scoring four goals.

Raul, Jones, and Hunterlaar were the most impressive on the night. He played well overall (he looks to be Schalke's best defender).

Schalke is as good as gone from Europa League after eating 4 goals at home to a superbly coached Bilbao.

I didn't see the game but goal.com gave him the best rating on defense

Was generally composed today, making a number of important interventions at the back. Impressed with his tackling, and was Schalke's best defender on the night.

I thought schalke were good enough for a draw. The away goal though that came in the first 45 plagued them through out the whole game. They chased the game and committed more and more men forward, whilst bilbao took advantage of the space left behind.

K pap was outstanding through out the whole game, but his team mates failed him. Could've had a goal or two himself.

Raul is a god. Creates, scores, works tirelessly off the ball. I even saw him nutmeg his opponent.

I didnt see the entire game but K Paps was phenomenal, the rest of the defense let him down at the end there.

He's also getting heaps of praise from those commenting on Goal.com and forums.

Getting back on topic, one of the coaches at my local club in Australia is a massive Schalke fan and got to meet Kiriakos Papadopoulos as his brother was part of the youth setup. Mentioned that he seemed like a good kid, and has nothing but respect for the way he plays.
