It was a great campaign, and it would have been a miracle for APOEL to overcome a team like Real. I mean its hard to beleive that team with so many players many who failed in the Greek league came together and made for a great team this season.
APOEL should be proud that they showed passion to the world both their club and their fans, which are the best in the Champions League this season, no doubts. Nice measured words from Mourinho regarding APOEL on the uefa website. Of course he is taking the opportunity to grandstand; making his team look better by applauding the strong effort of his opposition--but, he seems to go beyond that and express a great deal of admiration for APOEL and what they have accomplished. I have to believe that the man is telling the truth (of course I am one of the few who love this guy, so take it with a grain of salt).

Do APOEL get much money for going this far? Hopefully they can build onto ther stadium and turn into a bigger club and make decent runs in Europe the norm, even though this run is amazing. Good work APOEL and your supporters, if I support a club in Cyprus it is you guys . Well done FORZA APOELARA

Brave effort for 70mins to keep them at bay...absolutely no shame at all in losing 3-0 to the biggest and most successful club in the world.
Just a shame that i remember 2-3 opportunities to hit on the break and the wrong ball was played each time. Actually played and defeated Neftchi in their European debut in 1995. Apoel has looked fairly sharp so far so I see us qualifying but you just never know. -------------------- |
