Bad news is that PPFresh is injured and won't be playing.

Jerry, thanks for mentioning me. I feel that I may now be able to play. Not to be confused with a premadonna, but I was on the downs, and my injury was not feeling so good. I will try to play on it in the next couple of weeks as I am not match fit.
Have played but once in the Spring and not at all in the summer after catching a knock from a bulgarian dude. This is the problem I have no choice but to play with a good number of hatchet men up North.

Regardless, I will make the trek to see you guys (and the legend between the sticks) play whether I play or not. Hopefully I can assistant coach with you. I will be playing the role of HTC.

I will have all game info and times sent to everyone shortly. The legend between the sticks is practising his yoga while eating raw lamb and feta and will be ready at the tournament.

funny you say that, as today which is my last night in Sofia, I was sitting in an old Bulgarian restaurant and doing what you mention here sans the yoga. The Yoga I did upon my return to the hotel room.

I also remember you motoring around from center of the pitch to both flanks like a pinball in a pinball machine. Sorry for the lame simile. But you were fantastic. At one point while playing Central Defender in the beautiful night sky of the not-so-purdy pitch and surroundings, I looped an Ivanivanich ball over to you thinking that maybe I did the wrong thing, and would you know it, like a man possessed you allowed the ball to drop to the pitch completely stymieing your man marker who was looking up at the time and breezed by him to start the attack. I was so thankful that you were able to accomplish that and though, my what an intelligent player. Kudos mon frere.

Hah I do not remember this moment, but, given my lack of height and aerial prowess, I probably went for a header, missed completely, and somehow the ball fell back in my direction and I tried to make it look, as gracefully as possible, like I'd meant it all along.

Kudos to you, though! Commanding presence centrally, and always willing to provide width/overlaps from fullback. I hope you can get back to full fitness in time to play, but if you do take on the HTC role instead, I expect to hear you shouting from the touchline a la HTC on the highlight videos.

Just gotback from an undisclosed secret training location. Some birds were seen running away from the trees, which means the bullet was out there training and hitting those famous go anywhere toe shots. I hope he got F.A.A. clearence for the weekend. A little mixed up this year. I believe we ended up 4th place. I can't speak for the others, but I will spend the rest of the day in the hot tub.

All ended up pretty well. Played 4 official games total and 1 against some super young team ( Naperville Strikers )that was a last minute entry cause Sarnia bailed out from tournament on the 11th hour. Result in that match was immaterial.

Saturday :

Lost to tournament favourite, Hellenic United 3-2 ( we were so UNLUCKY not to come away with at least a draw in this one )
Beat Skala Chicago 4-3 ( best match we had, great attacking moves by the guys )

Sunday

Beat Thyella Chicago 2-0 ( good competitive match, sneaked by )
Lost to AC Halsted 2-0 ( Average age under 22 and with an IQ to match , very over the top and unecessarily aggressive )

Considering our Greeksoccer.com team never had 1 practise before the tournament and was a put into the OPEN Competitive league , we did real well and we were a mix of some old guys in their 40s and a bunch of young kids who just went to college and some last minute inclusions who I didn't know their names before Saturday, we performed very admirably as a unit. Had 21 players to choose from, every one of them got equal playing time and I hope no one left dissapointed.

Nikitas Papageorgiou , his Dad, Panagos ,the Goebel bros who show up every year, Nick Panousis, Alex Facklis, ofcourse our great and loyal keeper, Vasilis , Loukas and Hristoforos etc were some of the standouts as usual.

Special thanks to Vasilis, Bill Lepentis and Dean Kases who came from other States to participate and to to Nick ( PPFresh ) who although, injured did show up all day Saturday to support the team.

Jerry, you can count me in for the next one as well, that is as a backup. I would like to play in an over 40 division if there is going to be one.Hopefully I can get rid of the spare tires by then as well as the damn tsigaro. Anyway thank you Jerry and to the rest of the blokes that put up with me one more year..
