Olympiakos has racked up 22 clean sheets in its last 28 games.... Quite impressive. I still maintain that despite being a high scoring team, the 'backbone/strength' of this club is its defence. Especially down the middle.
Both DMs (Maniatis/Orbaiz), both CBs (Avraam/Olaf), and of course the keepers (Meygeri/Carrol) have been fantastic all season long in regards to keeping the opposition away and out of our net..... Marcano deserves some credit here too as he has played alot of minutes, and is more of a 'stay home' LB in contrast to Toro and Holebas who thrive on getting forward.... --------------------   |

"Coffee Time' used to be a very big donut shop chain here in Toronto (Greek owned)... The sign of the store at the Karaiskakis is identical to the one used here in Toronto. Doubt there is any connection, but its funny to us Torontonians

Επειδή δεν έχω εμπιστοσύνη στα μικρόφωνα, πλήρωσα ένα κωφάλαλο να διαβάση τα χείλη του Μαρινάκη και να μου πή και τα ψιθυριστά που δεν άκούστηκαν. Σύμφωνα με τον κουφό, ο Μαρινάκης είπε «Θέλω να υποσχεθώ στον κόσμο ότι θα πάρουμε άλλα 20 πρωταθλήματα έστω και αν χρειαστούμε δύο χιλιάδες χρόνια»!!!
Οταν μου είπε (τρόπος του λέγειν) αυτά ο κωφάλαλος, εγώ κουφάθηκα. Βλέποντας όμως τη σημερινή κατάσταση κατάλαβα οτι άλλα έλεγε ο σοφός Ευάγγελος και άλλα καταλάβαινα εγώ. Ο Μαρινάκης δεν μίλαγε για πρωταθλήματα αλλά για τη διαρκεια του Θρύλου και ουσιασικά μάς είπε οτι ενώ οι άλλοι ίσως να χρεωκοπήσουν και να παίζουν στο μέλλον με τον Απόλλωνα Σμύρνης, ο Ολυμπιακός θα είναι παρών και σε τροχιά πρωταθλητισμού τουλάχιστον για άλλα 2000 χρόνια! |

This season was the first in quite some time that we had 3 players with double digit goals in the league (Mirallas, Djebour, Pantelic).
