Oh yeah! Just this weekend!

Last years winner

Sepang International Circuit

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Circuit type Race
Circuit Length 5.543kms
Circuit Turns 15
Circuit Direction Clockwise
Capacity 133,000
Established 1999
Designer Hermann Tilke

In the 1990s Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Malaysia's prime minister, declared that by 2020 the country should be a fully industrialised nation. Part of this plan involved the construction of a race circuit - the result was the Sepang International Circuit.

Designed by "the architect of F1", Hermann Tilke, Sepang is considered one of the most technical circuits on the calendar and is a firm favourite with the drivers. The combination of long, high-speed, straights and tight corner complexes were designed with overtaking in mind.

Situated 60km from the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur and close to the city's international airport, the circuit also hosts the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix as well as the A1 GP race.

But the government's early enthusiasm waned and little money was pumped into the venue. Nor has the racing ever attracted more than passing interest from the locals.

Shortly before the 2007 grand prix, Bernie Ecclestone hit out at the facility saying it had become "shabby" and describing it as "an old house that needs a bit of redecorating". Circuit bosses admitted it was in need of $60 million to bring it up to scratch.

The circuit currently has a contract to host the race until 2011 and although the organisers had expressed an interest in making the event a night race, plans have since been dropped.

What a great race. PEREZ PEREZ PEREZ...
Gotta wonder why Sauber waited a lap to get him in for a set of slicks... He wouldve had Alonzo even so he had his opportunity and ran wide...

Nonetheless what a drive from the young man. Massa, make way!

Also gotta wonder why Perez had his race engineer telling him to pretty much settle for second instead of the usual, GET HIM GO GET HIM from your team. Few corners later Perez make a silly error and goes wide, way to shatter his confidence you negative fuckers!!

Great to see Vettel have some shitty luck for once, this guy was bullet proof last season. Hard to predict a front runner from here, setting the pace for a great season.

Ferrari wins, and suddenly Alexi appears! Tyxaio? den nomizo! wink.gif

Hamilton lost some positions again through some bad luck. McLaren have a great car, but they need to improve their race strategy and control. Dramatic pit stops for both Lewis and Jenson.

And yes, Perez, great drive from him. From last year you could already see that he is a good driver. When he was told by his race engineer to secure his second place, for a moment I thought Ferrari had told their engine users (Sauber) to back up a little.

Great drive for Alonso also, shows what a great driver can do in the rain. Massa really shouldn't be at Ferrari...

Red Bull looking bad makes me feel good! biggrin.gif

Im so glad this season has started the way it has, with no clear frontrunner. Lets hope it can stay this way and we can have a serious competition on our hands for the championship this season, im so sick of seeing the same dominance over and over for so long...

Was on the edge of my seat for the last 10 laps or so egging on Perez... The kid has potential and glad to see a new face contend for race wins

Also, what the hell was going on with Vettel in the last round? First his engineer tells him explicitly to go to the pits and retire the car, then they tell him to stay out, and then to stop the car immediately, and in the end he finishes normally???

:S

Ohi kai dead re, there still competitive and while not as dominant as last year there is much time to go for improvements. I’m very relieved it’s not a run away like last year but dont write them off yet.

I was ecstatic to see Alonso fall in at number 1! Man the guy is so good and proving it again in a shit box of a car. Perez... he did extremely well to come home second and record Saubers best result ever BUT he should have won it, he knows it but I also thought the radio to him telling him to not do anything stupid and virtually telling him his priority is to keep 2nd place was a real drag... in a position to win their first race and they encouraged their driver to stay 2nd!!!! When his is closing on the lead a second a lap! I didn’t mind seen it was Alonso but you have to wonder abit. Off course you have the pedantics saying it was rigged lol

Raikkonen is showing good race pace while my theory with Mercedes just got proven right again.

Anyone else getting sick of hearing the modern drivers screaming for races to be suspended?

In closing Massa needs to go!!! Not Ferrari material.

Always been around mate, just in the distance

How fucken shit is massa? Alonso is great but Fellipe makes it seem they give the spaniard a v12 and him a fucken honda civic. Better be his last season, id take an intoxicated fisichella at this point.
