I'm a bit of a Habs fan but given that I'm in Oz and we don't get to see them on ESPN (or the Leafs either for that natter, just sad Yank clubs) I can't say I know too much at present. sad.gif

Jonathan83 (my OFI friend from Sweden, who has seemingly disappeared from here) is a Habs fan.

As is red legend, who is from Toronto.

Him and Jimmy Prasinos need to swap cities. tongue.gif

as RG mentioned, I've been a die hard Habs fan since day 1.

I think for a lot of people growing up in Toronto during the late 70's and 80's it wasn't an option to like the leafs, since they were consummate losers at the time, so you chose a team you could be proud of.
In the 90's things reversed as Toronto has been producing a consistently good team and thus has produced a whole generation of new and loyal fans.

tongue.gif Then there are those like myself who grew up in the 80s, and for some reason, fell in love with the team even though they would win once a month.

I guess it will just make winning a Cup that much sweeter for guys like me.....(if it ever happens wacko.gif ).

same here. man we sucked in the 80's laugh.gif still loved getting together saturday night with the family, koumbaroi etc and watching the leafs. after a leafs loss, there would be so much trashing of the leafs, that it hurt. worst feeling ever was losing to l.a.

After trailing 4-0 to the leafs in Toronto they made the best at of that one fighting back only to fall short 5-4 in Toronto. Since then they have won 4 in a row Rangers,Ottawa,Boston and Carolina. They are cripping up on the standings and I am starting to smell cup here. They can challenge anyone and with Theodore playing mvp style as he did a few years ago and with both Koivu and Ribeiro leading the way I honestly think they can go all the way. Anything can happen with a bit of luck. All teams are balanced. Montreal is hot right now and what better time than now towards the end of the season and into the playoffs.

GO HABS GO thumbs.gif

We'll take care of you when it's crunch time wink.gif

The thing I love about the Bruins though is that we have 5 guys in their early twentys that the team is built around(Thornton,Samsonov,Raycroft,Bergeron, and Boyton) thumbs.gif

habs have put a string of wins together lately which has bosted them quite a bit in the final stretch. also the lightning are really impressing too, and are fighting it out for 1st overall in the conference. the leafs were sagging a bit of late (last 10 games) but will eddie back between the pipes we took it to nj, and hopefully its a sign of the way we will at least finish out the season.

the east and especially the northeast division are too tight to call right now.

its starting to heat up in the east. i never expected a 4 way tie for first, but thats how it is. good win by the buds today. maybe we will meet the habs in the playoffs this year. btw, when was the last time the leafs and habs locked horns in the playoffs?
