Bravo to Olympic who against all predictions beat the Croatians of Sydney 1-0 on sunday.
There were 4,500 fans for the 1st home game....something to build on no doubt.

All 3 would be goodsignings ...Im happy that 2 out of the 3 players are Greek too..its about time OLympic became a Greek team again.
What the hell was Panopoulos thinking though going of all places to Brazil to start a career in his early 30'? laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
If he had gone for the carnival there I could understand but did Panaopoulos really think he would woo the brazilians with his magic laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Last night hellas played olympic in the greek derby in front of about 4500 people. South come out firing and in the first 30 mins were up 3-0. Olympic then cam out and scored 2 goals to make 3-2. Then Boutsi steped up to a freekick and curled it into the top corner to make 4-2 to hellas, and thats how it ended. That puts south back on top with goal difference.

Now onto sundays game at the bob jane stadium against joint leader power there should be a big crowd there.

This is for all the aussie guys...as most of you know im currently holidaying up the Gold Coast(Its wild up here).
Last night I had the pleasure of meeting former Olympic owner and one of the richest Greeks in Ausralia Nick Politis at a Nightclub.(Melba's for those who have been)
He is a terrific guy, hit it off right away and is definately one of the boys .
I think hes 60 yrs old, maybe married but lets just say that he was"partying" the night away as if he were a 21 yr old witha very beautiful female crowd around him wink.gif .
The scoop is that Frank Lowy the Soccer Australia Boss wants Politis to start up a new sydney team and has suggested to him that Sydney Olympic will not be given a franchise in the new league and that Sydney will havea new team playing out of the Football stadium.
The thought behind this Lowy move is that he wants to force the Greeks to watch the new sydney team because Olympic wont be there.Politissaid to me tha tLowy knows that the success ofa new sydney team is based on getting the Greeks on board along other non Greeks fans
Politis is very Greek though, a shrewd businesman and a clever man he said too me he is having a meeting with Lowy in February where all will be decided.
Nick suggested to me that regardless if Olympic make the cut or not, if he does take conrol of this new team he will make it a greek team by defacto by hiring Greeks to manage and coach the team and push foran all blue strip dry.gif

Nick is a legend, he "introduced" and "encouraged" many of his companions to us wink.gif . He isa very down to earth guy and very easyoing a.
The irony was when we encouraged some of our "companions" to him, we had the biggest laugh making "greek" comments about them(some were even Greek).
The beauty was thsoe fucken aussies in the club who recognised him saw a group of Greek men partying away with the best looking gals in the club and there was nothing they can do about it but watch salivating. wink.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
As for the action, what can I say Greg, plenty of people up from Sydney especially those dirty vromolivanazoi.... the Gold coast is just that, great weather, good beach and lots and lots of girls 9 even dumb ones)
Its 2am here now that Im posting, my 2nd night here, im dehydratedand tired, Im off to bed so I can be ok for the big NYE bash up here.
Just rest assured that ifPolitis takes this new team that Lowy his offering him the playing colours he will push for will be blue, the general manager will be Pater Raskopoulos and the coach will be Nick Theorarakopoulos...in other words a greek team by defacto.

Hopfully you bump into Politis again, and the palace thing happens, that would be incredible!
Hop you have a crazy new years eve there! Grab a Australeza and bang the new year in her! laugh.gif
Enjoy!

The good old days are going slowly

As a west adelaide fan.. it was pretty killa every week we had a derby.

vs sydney utd, melb knights - greeks vs croats
vs adelaide city, marconi -against the itali
vs preston - the skorpiani
vs brisbane strikers, newcastle, wollongong - the doggars laugh.gif
vs south melb, syd olympic - greeks vs greeks

You melb guys are extremely lucky yous still have a team, yous should support it as much as you can.
