The Greek TV broadcast stopped it before the OT ?!

Fans were throwing objects to Efes players
What happened at the OT, why that kind of events occured ?
How Ibrahim Kutluay behaved during those events ?

Thanks for the infos in advance
Whasba66
PAO won 102-96.
Here is a link to the recap of the game, not sure if it answers all your questions though.
BlackHell
The whole efes team protested when the ref didnt count the last free throw that would make the score 95-95... instead the players walked away from the court and the fans got angy and started throwing stuff...
Efes didnt have the right to do that but the fans embarrassed them selfs and so did their owner (again)

it was a great game though

This is from the game between Efes v Panathinaikos... today..

EFES is really excellent team. They showed how to play against both opponent and the referee. It was a great game but EFES won properly. Also the show after the game was magnificient.Especially SOLOMON's hıgh performance gave us the victory. We are sure that they will win the third match and qualify for the final four. clapping.gif clap2.gif clapping.gif clap2.gif clapping.gif clap2.gif clapping.gif clap2.gif

Did you even watch the game or are you talking out of your ass? Panathinaikos played with balls in front of 12,000 turks who turned the match into a politcal scene where throughout the whole game they were throwing bottled water, coins and anything else. Furthermore, having three banners that are uncalled for. I bet the majority of fans that went to todays game didnt know what a basketball was but went to yell for Turkey because your media hyped it up In Athens 5 bottles were thrown and you guys ran off the court, Today hundreds of bottles were thrown along with other stuff but we stayed like men and finished the battle. We showed heart today and how can you even talk about the refs when they clearly played home court as they would not stop the match when your fans(if you want to call them that) were throwing whatever and were over the Panathinaikos bench spitting and blowing frog horns. Come to Athens turks. ph34r.gif

Oh my clever boy!How can you compere the events that occured in ATİNA and in İSTANBUL.Didn't you remember that your stupid fans and even the president of panathinaikos spitted to the refs and our bench in first match. Also one of your drug addicts tried to attack our players. I wonder to know why the greek tv stopped the broadcast.May be they want to hide something which happened that night.I think FİBA should change the place of third match.

@enesis
i agree with you..FIBA should change the place of final match..maybe another country..
Ionian
What Fiba needs to do is banning Efes from playing infront of crowd again. They were complaining about 3 bottles in Athens and yesterday it was a warzone.

You idiots threw way more coins and bottles the entire match and nobody said or did anything. when few bottles were thrown people went on apoligizing and trying to stop it immidiately. also racist banner and stupid things. everything you will get in Athens you will deserve.

It was not nice having those banners, the virginity one is bit disgusting also.
There was a banner in Athens saying "Istanbul is ours" or something like that. And a Cyrprus map in Greece flag etc.
So same kind of and more stuff is displayed in second match.
The first match took lots of place in Turkish media and people were yelling about the second match days before. So those kind of banners and hot pressure was an expected destiny.
Not nice but i mean it is expected after the first match.

I hope sensible Greek fans will prevent worse events in 3rd match (which seems an utopia)

Yea you won the bet.
Many of them were there just in case of the first match.
Efes hasn't got a fan base in Turkey. They are a strong company team located in Istanbul and people go to their matches just to watch some basketball, thats it.
But as you mentioned, the ones who got crazy about the first match and took it as a politic issue, went to this match and showed the anger. No matter the basketball...
Do you know that thousands were outside and couldn't enter the court ? It was all the first matchs echo.

Let's wait the last match,
I'm not very interested in Efes successes but this will worth to watch i guess.
HELLAS59
Has Turkey ever won anything in basketball Fenerbahce?
Fener
in national area Turkey was the European finalist in 2002, lost the final and finished the European Championship 2nd.
Efes got an European cup (at 1998 i guess)
plus losing one final and lost a final-four
These are remarkable achievements, there are some final-fours also achieved by different clubs.
at younger ages Turkey has a brighter future, already won many awards at those stages like winning high schools world cup, u-17 euro cup final etc.

Is the third game in Greece??
If so the Greeks should not worry about the consequences as there are none & fuck these Mother Fuckers when they come to Athens. devil2.gif devil2.gif banana.gif

you dont understand- Cyprus seriously is Greek- yes there is a minority of turks who live there now. anyways I have always seen these flags because there are some fans who live in Athens but have family or are origninally from Cyprus, or even just visiting and at the game. The Greek flag with the map of Cyprus is the original-older flag of Cyprus. i saw this at the euro celebrations and on tv many times its no way offensive.

Yes the 3rd game is in Athens this week
apostolano

My greek friends you missed one important point when you judge turks;
AEK was in polis one week ago and many Fenerbahce fans gave their support to Original21 smile.gif against Efes.No nationalist bullshit , no banners, no chants blush.gif

Just ask yourselves why we are going to be rude when we are going to play against pao.Nobody is innocent
HELLAS59
Cuz they threw 5-10 bottles on your players, I dont think they pulled out a banner of 1821 or Balkan wars, did they? Anyways, I guess you guys cant get over the past, thats why you bring it up even in sporting matches! thumbdown.gif
PANATHA
Guys lets not generalize the fans behaviour. I agree that the Turkiye fans over done it , it isnt the first time we have seen Banners with Rude Historic Remarks, but these fans are a minority. We shouldnt forget our behaviour with the bottles too. I just hope we dont have trouble in the third game something which i doubt although pao's soccer game with Fenerbache was calm three years ago.
leonidas112
OK, let me tell you my view, as I think I have a very special case:

I was lucky to watch EFES-AEK in Abdi Ipektsi, in Instanbul, in March 30 and the next game of Efes PANATHINAIKOS-EFES in Olympic stadium....I'm a big basketball fan, no matter what the Greek club is.

I was impressed how well Turks treated us in Istanbul: We entered Abdi Ipektsi stadium walking next to Turks, and nobody said a word to us, not even during the match, other than a couple of jerks, which of course cannot be counted when talking about 10,000 people.

The big difference of that match, with EFES-PAO one is that the in AEK match the stadium was full of school children and in PAO match full of nationalists, influenced by what the Turkish newspapers wrote the next day of PAO-EFES game.

In the first match in Olympic Stadium, nobody treated bad Turks, besides ten jerks behind efes bench. However, the bottles thrown and everything, were enlarged by the turkish press. Having visited Turkey, I believe that there are many Turks who are nationalists (much more in proportion that in Greece) and that they wait for this kind of matches to 'show their ability'.

The sad thing is that Efes directors didn't do anything about it: they allowed those banners on, they allowed people to throw things against Greek club without a single announcement, etc. They acted even more stupidly, if you think that they had a third game in Greece! If you could see the match on TV, the Turkish TV director was trying to avoid showing even one bottle thrown on the court, even if he had to show us the player who's about to shoot a free throw for 10 minutes, from every angle! That was like junta TV coverage, and showed intention and a plan from Turkish chiefs.

Anyway, I met a lot of people in Turkey, who really hugged us when we were saying that we're from Greece, and I can't forget that. However, there is a big uneducated population, who wait for this kind of cases to present us the results of Kemal-nationalism promotion. 'Moderate' Turks should try to tell off those part of people.

BTW, the biggest asshole of Efes team, is not a Turk: it's that KUQO the Albanian. After AEK match, only one moved to the side of AEK fans, and he was the one, starting making gestures to us!!!!!
HELLAS59
The Turks have requested for more security/protection for their players for the upcoming game! hmm.gif
axl
Hellas59 its not the match of countries its efes-pao match and ı don't care who wins. Media makes everything terrible for their popularity and stopid nationalist are everywhere. I hope that 3rd. game passes by silence in terrances
lets the best team win

Leonidas call me when you visit poli
HELLAS59
My friend, I just said that they asked for extra security, it must have been pretty bad last game, I guess thats why they feel the need for extra protection. And to be perfectly honest with you, I really dont care who wins either, I am just posting latest developments on the games status. Take care my friend! thumbs.gif
HELLAS59
And by the way, I dont know whats up with this 1453 Turkish syndrome? Its been brought up in many sporting events between Greeks and Turks. 1453 was the end of the Great Byzantine empire, but it was just another part of our glorious history, not giving up the city, and fighting till the last man against odds of 10 to 1, maybe even more, so its not anything tremendously glorious on the Turks part, especially with your janissary corps of foreign blood. Maybe they need to chill out a little bit. laugh.gif I just wanted to state that, because its happened many times, like its something humiliating to us? laugh.gif We would have fallen to any other invader at that time with those odds. Anyways, these games should be about the sport, not politics! Take Care! smile.gif
axl
Answer of your questions is because stupids are everywhere in both sides, only many people knew that Istanbul name is coming from greeks ıf my memory not wrong name must be estanpoli ( means across to the city or something like that )
since 1453 banner which presented in fener-pao amtch has different story ıf you want to learn ı can try to tell with all my objectivity cause I was middle of action smile.gif
leonidas112
To tell you the truth, I didn't have any idea that Turks were so fond of 1453. Until two kids were making the numbers of 1453, and I noticed better how many banners of that year were there at Efes-Pao game.

From what I saw in Constantinople, it seems that Turks have psychosis with this year and Kemal himself. You can see him everywhere in that country! I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if I was to see his face on condom box!! smile.gif smile.gif (no offense...).

I - honestly - understand that 1453 & Kemal thing, because I can see that it's considered to be the start of their 'civilisation' and Europeanisation... I don't think they have so many dates and person to boast like other countries... (again, no offense)

Axl, do you live in Turkey?! Too bad, I didn't know that before my departure!

axl
You mean about turkey flags which holding every building smile.gif
one week before Efes-AEK game two kurdish people burned turkey national flag and common pact comin from whole country.Every normal people hold flags thats why everywhere was red that days.

Yes I am living in poli life long Fenerbahce and AEK fan

Interesting match. Congratulations to PAO
Efes lost it in group stage, stupidly give the first place to Benetton and lost the home court advantage agains Pao. As we see in this serie the team who play at home dominated the game.

Seems it was a clean match if we though about the first and second match. Just a bigger banner behind the Efes bench and some other smaller ones
also after final whistle some object thrown at Efes players.

As i said before i am not very interested in Efes matches or thier victories to be honest i was happy when Ibo scored just because he is a Fenerbahce origined player and a big Fenerbahce fan.

Again congrats and wish success at Final-Four

can somebody give me a short list of Greek teams playing turkish teams in all sports just off the top of their heads

Pao crushed fener in football
Osfp crushed galatasaray
0-0 draw in Athens 2004 national teams

do you think the mongols will ever hold a banner again or do you think they've learnt their lesson?

also whats this about the albanian? gypsies seem to love the people who made them bow down to islam
Fener
Turkish national team has the dominance i think.

Returning the match; any of you have the picture of big Turkish banner opened by the PAO fans just behind Efes bench ? The one securites took seconds after it opened ? Or any of you know what is exactly written on it ?

anyone got any pics of the banners by the PAO fans at the match, e.g. cyprus one, constantinoupoli one

FenerbahCHE,

You are right. Behind EFES bench there were a few hard supporters.
There was a banner that wrote 1821 YOU WERE DEAD BARBARIANS. This banner was immediately taken down and ripped by the president of the club.
The only other trouble was a flare and bottles when the teams entered the ground. Also, there was a supporter dressed as a TSIOLA, national dressing, that run around the ground.
Thank allax/god that no one got hurt both in athens and instabul.
About IBO, he said that he was in a difficult position in Turkey b/c a lot of turkish fans were swearing at him b/c he was playing with a greek team. He also said that he is happy to be in the final four.
Anyway, all pao players after the game signed the ball and devoted it to Solomon: "THEY SAID THAT THEY TOOK OUR VIRGINITY, WE TAUGHT THEM CULTURE". It happens that Solomon at the game in Istanbul throw the ball to pao's bench.
Fener
Really pappy for Ibo.

Solomon is an interesting man, he never did such kind of things before i was surprised. But the Pao player who spitted on him during the match, was not nice.
Well that was a serie of tough compete so these kind of things was expected.

And the banner i mentioned is not any of these, it was written in Turkish and after a few seconds securities took it from those fans. It was opened i guess at 2nd period or 3rd period. Tv couldn't catch it may be some one has the clear photo of it. But it was a banner who shows anger and the Turkish commentator said "I won't read this banner to you"
axl
After reading some turkish sport forums; Seems like hard days waiting to İbrahim in Turkey
MyCollina!
Speaking of fan behavior, how do fans in Greece and the rest of Europe get away with bringing flares into stadia and arenas? I have been looking at photos from the PAO-Efes and Inter-Milan games, and seeing some fans holding and throwing these things is just insane. I live in the US, and you would never see that here. They would be stopped at the gate or, if they did get in, as soon as the flare was lit, they'd be thrown out immediately and probably charged with some kind of misdemeanor.
