Angelos Basinas's anticipated move to Greek champions Olympiakos has fallen through as both parties have failed to come to a mutual agreement.
Olympiakos did not agree on a three year "closed" contract set forth by Basinas, as they were offering a two year term proposal.
"PAE Olympiakos S.F.P. would like to announce that they have retracted their interest for footballer Angelos Basinas. PAE Olympiakos general manager Mr. Yiannis Chrysikopoulos and the player's agent Mr. P. Koutsoliakos discovered a discrepancy in the number of years offered for the contract. In detail, PAE Olympiakos offered a two year contract term, while the player's side asked for a three year term."
The way is now paved for cross town rivals AEK to move in for the kill.
