Javier Gracia says he is pleased to be working at a club that has plenty of ambition after the Spaniard was announced by Olympiacos Volou FC as the club's new manager, officially replacing sacked manager Sakis Tsiolis and interim bench boss Makis Katsavakis.
Gracia commended Olympiacos Volou's achievements after a fifth-place finish in the Greek Super League, enough to earn a berth in next season's UEFA Europa League.
Speaking to a group of reporters at his presentation in Volos on Tuesday, Gracia thanked the club for the opportunity. "I would like to thank the club for giving this opportunity to a young coach like me," he said after his appointment. "I am proud to become part of such an ambitious project. I will do my best for Olympiacos Volou."
Volou are under plenty of scrutiny for the actions of chairman Achilleas Beos, with UEFA reportedly keeping a close eye on the club's wealthy chair after allegations of match-fixing emerged last winter.
