Athens was one of the first areas within Greece where soccer bloomed. The establishments of Panathinaikos, AEK, Apollon, Panionios and others clubs helped immensly in the creation of other soccer clubs by young men in all neighborhoods of the city.

Around 1930 a few young men that used to work at the Piritidopiion factory put together a team that reflected their work. They played their games at the suburb of Aigaleo where the factory was located. Around the same time other clubs like Ierapolis, Agios Spiridonas and Foinikas were founded as well. It was only natural that these clubs did not make it far as Aigaleo's soccer clubs were not united.

The passion of these young men to compete against the big clubs forced them to unify the above mentioned teams, and establish during the war years (1947) A.O. Aigaleo. Aigaleo started out from the C' Division of EPSA and became the favorite amongst supporters in the surrounding areas of the suburb. Promotion to the B' Division was especially tough as other stronger teams at the time like Athinaikos, Fostiras, Asteras, Goudi, etc. were present.

Some of the players that came up through the Aigaleo ranks are: Papapostolou, Poupakis, Grafas, Tsapos, Eksomanidis, Maramenidis, Kanellopoulos, Koulidis, fakis, Mitropoulos, Diamantopoulos, Mpalarinis, Kiriakidis, Panousakis, Makris, Stavropoulos, Ntountoumis, Tsalamagkas and many others.
